Bengal Heritage
Foundation, UK
These are unprecedented times. As if dealing with Covid wasn’t enough, Cyclone Amphan devastated Bengal with leaving half a million people homeless. Bengal courageously braved the cyclone. The cyclone was the most ferocious in 250+ years leaving behind.
The infrastructure will take years to rebuild. Kids will probably stop going to school or college. Fields will be unsuitable for cultivation till salt water is taken out.
Bengal Heritage Foundation, is a London based not for profit organisation, focussed on promoting the art, culture, traditions and heritage of Bengal globally.

Biloopto- an oath to rejuvenate the extinct humanity
Biloopto is a charitable initiative formed by some Jadavpur University Alumni and their friends. The core idea behind setting up this group was to enable students, alumni and professionals to be able to contribute positively towards society development.

South Asia Ahead, UK
The eastern Indian state of West Bengal was ravaged by super-cyclone Amphan, and South Bengal, particularly Kolkata and the districts of North and South 24 Parganas, were the worst affected regions with nearly a 100 people officially dead, thousands of trees uprooted, bridges broken, and crops destroyed. The state needs much more to rebuild Kolkata. The communities inhabiting the low-lying islands of the Sundarbans are facing extinction. We hope you will come forward in providing assistance to our friends and partner organisations on the ground providing relief amidst this humanitarian crisis, compounded with the coronavirus pandemic.

Bengal Relief Collective
#BengalReliefCollective began as a conversation with friends who had been affected by the Amphan in Bengal, and were stranded without essentials, supplies, electricity or water.
We began to wonder how much worse things were going to be for people living in far flung, harder to reach areas like the Sunderbans, and in the absence of a larger plan, the major concern was that of a strategy and reach.
The BR Collective was formed out of this initial impulse and we were a small group, trying to navigate the muddy waters of media apathy, administrative indifference, a near total blackout in terms of national attention on the crisis, and all these further intensified by the pandemic.
But all its taken is some 200 odd volunteers, 4 days and a huge amount of collective solidarity to get to this point, where we now have a FB page and a website where you can see our efforts, the contributions and the people behind this – www.westbengalrescue.in

ART AUCTION

Abundant Art Gallery and DNV Industries has come together with Bengal Heritage Foundation and Stay Alive Concerts for a fund raising campaign to support families in Bengal affected by the cyclone Amphan
We are putting up eight (8) iconic black & white photos(unframed) of Kolkata taken between 1969 and 1991 by internationally acclaimed West Bengal based photographer Sunil K Dutt for online auction. Most of the proceeds from this auction will be donated to charities working on cyclone relief. As we are aware that the ongoing Covid crisis has severely affected livelihoods of artists, a small part of the proceeds will be forwarded to Sunil K Dutt who is now a senior citizen.
Each one of these photographs create durable memories about a specific place or way of life of our beloved city-Kolkata. A city which is the pride and joy of its inhabitants, now badly battered by the cyclone. What better way could there be to help in the rebuilding efforts of this amazing city and its surrounding regions than acquitting some of its enduring memories through this photography auction. We would be immensely grateful to you all for support this cause. Please do participate and spread the word.
Please visit https://www.facebook.com/events/268521941256812/ to take a look and bid for the photos
